“Punjab’s ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ Program Nears Completion as Over 23,000 Homes Enter Final Phase”

LAHORE:The Punjab government’s **”Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar”** program, launched in **September 2024**, has reached a significant milestone with **over 23,500 homes** now entering the final stages of construction. This ambitious initiative aims to provide affordable housing to thousands of families across the province.
An important meeting chaired by **Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif** was held to review the progress of the program, including the disbursement and repayment processes of the **interest-free loans** provided to beneficiaries. The meeting revealed that in just **five months**, **28,219 families** had received a total of **PKR 30 billion** in interest-free loans under this scheme.
The completion of **23,500 homes** is seen as a major achievement, fulfilling the government’s promise to provide homes for the homeless. This initiative marks a historic chapter in Punjab’s development, aligning with the government’s vision of supporting the underprivileged.
During the meeting, **Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz** reviewed the progress of the program and directed the concerned authorities to expedite the distribution process of the interest-free loans. She noted, *“No government in the past five years has built as many houses as have been completed in just the last five months.”*
