Good News for Electricity Consumers: Four Government Power Plants Agree to Lower Tariff

Islamabad – In a positive development for electricity consumers, four government-owned power plants have agreed to reduce their electricity tariffs. According to *Express News*, these power plants have expressed their willingness to supply electricity on a “Take and Pay” basis, meaning they will only be paid for the electricity actually used.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has officially submitted a request to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for a tariff reduction on behalf of these plants. A hearing regarding the tariff reduction request will take place on April 24.

The plants involved in the request include the National Power Parks Management Company’s **Bhikki Power Plant**, **Haveli Bahadur Shah Power Plant**, and the **Central Power Generation Company**. Additionally, the **Northern Power Generation Nandipur** plant is also part of the tariff reduction request.

This move, if approved, will likely provide relief to electricity consumers, as lower tariffs can reduce overall electricity costs for the public.
