Alleged Medical Negligence at Karachi’s Jinnah Hospital Leads to Death of 17-Year-Old Patient

Karachi – A 17-year-old patient, Nisar Ali, suffering from a respiratory illness, reportedly died due to alleged medical negligence at Jinnah Hospital in Karachi, sparking outrage among his family members.

According to the bereaved family, the doctors failed to provide proper treatment and had recommended shifting the patient to the ICU. However, despite two vacant beds being available, the patient was allegedly denied admission to the ICU, which led to a heated exchange between the family and hospital staff.

Tensions escalated further when attendants of the patient allegedly assaulted doctors in the hospital’s medical ICU. A video of the altercation has since surfaced on social media, drawing widespread attention.

In protest, the grieving family placed the body outside the Saddar Police Station and staged a demonstration, demanding justice and accountability for what they claim was avoidable negligence.

On the other hand, hospital administration has denied any wrongdoing, stating that the patient was suffering from a severe infection and was provided the best possible care given his critical condition.

The incident has raised serious concerns about hospital management, patient care protocols, and the strained relationship between medical staff and patients’ families in public hospitals.
