Pakistan Repays All UAE Financial Deposits, Confirms State Bank

KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan has confirmed that Pakistan has fully repaid all financial deposits provided by the United Arab Emirates.
According to the central bank, the latest payment of $1 billion was transferred a day earlier, bringing the total outstanding amount to zero.
The development follows earlier repayments made during the past week, when Pakistan returned $2.45 billion to the UAE, completing a total repayment of $3.45 billion.
State Bank of Pakistan repaid deposit of US$ 1 billion to Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) UAE on 23April2026. Deposits of $2.45 billion were repaid last week. This completes the repayment of total deposits of $3.45 billion to UAE.

The State Bank stated that all liabilities were settled in accordance with agreed procedures.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has extended financial support of $3 billion to Pakistan, a move being seen as significant for the country’s financial stability.
