Karachi: The dumper driver involved in a hit-and-run incident with a police vehicle on Shahrah-e-Faisal has surrendered himself to the authorities following a police crackdown, as reported by Express News.
The dramatic incident, which occurred yesterday, gained widespread attention after a video of the event went viral on social media. According to a traffic police spokesperson, officers quickly responded to the scene, controlling the situation and preventing further harm to the public.
Following the incident, the traffic police launched an effective crackdown. As a result, the driver turned himself in along with the dumper truck. A case has been registered against him, and further legal proceedings are underway.
In a statement, the traffic police urged all Karachi residents to strictly follow traffic rules to ensure everyone’s safety on the roads.
It is noteworthy that earlier, the police had contacted the Dumper Association to facilitate the driver’s surrender. While the association initially agreed to cooperate, they later withdrew their support.
In response, police intensified their crackdown, issuing fines to dozens of dumpers, seizing more than two dozen vehicles, and arresting one driver.
