Iran Reduces Power Supply Quota to Makran Division, Leading to Increased Load Shedding

Quetta:The spokesperson for Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) has announced that the power supply quota from neighboring country Iran to the Makran Division has been reduced. As a result, additional load management is being carried out in all areas of the Makran Division that are connected to the 132kV Pasni-Mand and 132kV Polan-Gwadar transmission lines.
The spokesperson further clarified that only 20 megawatts of power is being supplied through the 132kV Pasni-Mand line and another 20 megawatts through the 132kV Polan-Gwadar transmission line. This reduction in the power supply quota from Iran has led to increased load shedding in the affected areas of the Makran Division.
QESCO expressed hope that once Iran increases the power quota, the situation will normalize, and the additional load shedding in all areas of Makran Division will be immediately ended. During this period, QESCO has apologized to the consumers of Makran and appealed for their cooperation due to the power supply disruption caused by the reduction in Iran’s quota.
The reduction in power supply is expected to be temporary, and efforts are underway to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
