Governor of Balochistan Hosts Luncheon in Honor of Russian Consul General

Karachi: In a significant diplomatic engagement, Governor of Balochistan, Jan Mohammad Khan Mandokhel, emphasized the growing importance of economic collaboration between Pakistan and Russia. During a luncheon hosted by the Russian Consul General, Mr. Andrey Fedorov, at the Russian Consulate in Karachi, Mandokhel highlighted the rapidly changing global political and economic landscape, underscoring the pivotal moment in strengthening the economic ties between the two nations.
Mandokhel stated that the ongoing cooperation between Pakistan and Russia could provide new foundations for peace, stability, and development across the region. He emphasized that this partnership holds immense potential for mutual growth, reinforcing the economic ties that could benefit both countries.
The Governor also pointed out that next week, he, along with Principal Secretary to the Governor of Balochistan Hashim Khan Gulzai, and the Vice Chancellors of three key public sector universities in Balochistan – Lasbela University, University of Balochistan, and Loralai University – would visit Russia. During the visit, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed with these universities to promote academic and research collaboration.
Speaking on the occasion, Mandokhel recognized Russia’s remarkable journey from a developing European nation to a global superpower. He emphasized that Balochistan, with its strategic location, vast natural resources, and rich minerals, presents a unique opportunity for investments in sectors such as higher education, minerals, agriculture, and livestock. The Governor stressed that this collaboration could revitalize the local economy and create new development opportunities for the region.
He further noted that Russia’s exceptional expertise could guide Balochistan in transitioning from traditional rural life to urbanization and industrialization. By fostering economic cooperation, the two countries could launch projects aimed at reducing poverty and unemployment, as well as providing modern technical and vocational skills to youth in the region.
Governor Mandokhel highlighted that Balochistan’s numerous technical and vocational institutions could benefit from Russia’s expertise, helping to equip young people with the necessary skills to succeed in the modern economy. He also pointed out the growing need to strengthen people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Russia, stressing that this partnership would solidify the bond of friendship between the two nations and foster a brighter future for upcoming generations.
Earlier, Mandokhel expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome extended by the Russian Consulate and praised Consul General Andrey Fedorov and his team for organizing the event in honor of the Governor’s visit.
