25-Year-Old Zeeshan Khattak Turns Mushroom Farming into a Successful Business

Zeeshan Khattak, a 25-year-old from Peshawar, has turned mushroom farming into a thriving business, earning millions monthly, all while operating from a small rented room. His success is not just personal; he is also encouraging other young people to explore this profitable venture.

The idea of mushroom farming came to Zeeshan during his research on the subject at the Agriculture University of Peshawar a few years ago. Traditionally, mushrooms are grown between March and October, but Zeeshan has found a way to grow them year-round.

For this, he created underground rooms with temperatures maintained between 16 to 19 degrees Celsius. This innovative approach has allowed him to consistently earn between 300,000 to 400,000 rupees a month.

Zeeshan produces various types of mushrooms, including oyster, white, and golden button mushrooms, which he sells to hotels in Peshawar at a rate of 300 to 350 rupees per kilogram. Additionally, he has expanded his business to include mushroom-based products like pickles, protein powder, and cookies, which have also gained popularity.

Zeeshan is not only focused on his own success but is also actively working to inspire others in his community to take up mushroom farming. He believes that mushroom farming can help reduce unemployment and improve the financial conditions of many, particularly women who stay at home. He sees it as a great opportunity for them to earn a sustainable income.

Through his efforts, Zeeshan is not only creating a successful business model but is also empowering others to follow in his footsteps.
