PTI Political Committee Expresses Strong Concerns Over Murad Saeed’s Unilateral Announcement of Protest March in Swat

Swat: The political committee of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has expressed strong concerns over Murad Saeed’s unilateral announcement of a protest march in Swat on April 11.
According to private TV channel Geo News, it is expected that this matter will be raised before the party’s incarcerated founder and chairman, Imran Khan, who will decide whether to support the confrontational stance of hardline party leaders like Murad Saeed or the moderate leaders of the party, who advocate for de-escalating tensions and seeking relief.
Sources revealed that recently, during a meeting with Pakistani doctors and businessmen from the United States who had visited Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, they urged the party’s founding chairman to rein in the party’s aggressive social media campaigns. However, there has been no clear indication from Imran Khan so far regarding instructing his digital teams to reduce their confrontational rhetoric.
Senior figures in PTI, including party chairman Barrister Goher Ali and several members of the political committee, are not pleased with Murad Saeed’s decision to call for a protest without prior consultation or formal approval from the leadership.
A senior party leader, speaking to the correspondent, emphasized that such decisions should be approved by Imran Khan, as past protests and rallies have yielded minimal political gain and have increased pressure on the leadership currently in jail.
Many within PTI, particularly overseas supporters trying to mediate between the establishment and Imran Khan, believe that dialogue is a better approach than confrontation.
An internal party source stated that despite international pressure and the lack of relief from aggressive politics, it has become clear that the judiciary cannot deliver as hoped. The best option remains negotiations, but with the ongoing hostile presence on social media, success appears unlikely.
