Chief Minister of Balochistan Rejects Link Between Terrorism and Baloch Identity

Quetta:Chief Minister of Balochistan, **Sarfraz Bugti**, strongly rejected the notion of linking the recent terrorist activities in the province to Baloch identity, stating that such actions are categorically against the traditions of the Baloch people. He emphasized that terrorists cannot control any area in the province, and their attempts to destabilize peace will always be thwarted.

Speaking during a meeting with **Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif** in Quetta on Thursday, Bugti condemned the attacks on innocent civilians, including women, children, and workers, calling them completely unacceptable. He stressed that these attacks are contrary to the values of hospitality and cultural traditions that the Baloch people have upheld for centuries.

“The Baloch people have always been protectors of their culture and traditions, and such acts of terror have no place in our history,” Bugti stated. He added that while terrorists try to spread fear by creating short videos and making false claims, the security forces are always swift in their response, ensuring the safety of the people and dismantling any terrorist presence swiftly.

He further highlighted that despite the temporary disruptions caused by these terrorist actions, they cannot hold ground for more than a few hours in any area, thanks to the professional efforts of the security forces. Bugti also assured that the government and security agencies are taking all necessary steps to counter the misinformation and terror attempts to destabilize the region.

The Chief Minister reiterated the importance of ensuring both peace and development in Balochistan, calling it vital for the province’s future success. He concluded that the province’s prosperity will only be guaranteed if both peace and progress are maintained in tandem.

The meeting was attended by federal and provincial ministers, along with members of the National and Provincial Assemblies and Senators.
