National Party Condemns Arrests and False Cases Against BNP Leaders and Workers

Quetta: The central spokesperson of the National Party issued a statement condemning the cases and arrests filed against BNP (Balochistan National Party) leaders, including Sardar Akhtar Mengal, along with other leaders and workers. The statement criticized the ongoing trend of filing false and baseless cases against political leaders, a practice reminiscent of the authoritarian eras, and claimed that the current government, under “Form 47,” is following the same path.
The statement pointed out that while both major political parties are part of the government, they have trampled on democratic traditions and values, continuously implementing undemocratic measures, which is regrettable.
It further emphasized that in practice, there is no real government in Balochistan. Those who appear to be in power are, in fact, artificial entities bound by the orders of behind-the-scenes forces. The statement also criticized the lack of insight and priorities in the “Form 47” government.
The issue of missing persons was highlighted as a serious and urgent matter, with the spokesperson stating that, due to the federal government’s negative policies, people are being disappeared on a daily basis. During Ramadan, the families of the missing individuals are forced to protest on the streets, with national highways being blocked.
The statement concluded with a call for the cancellation of cases against BNP leaders and workers, and for the immediate release of the detained leaders and activists.
