Surge in Gas Leakage Explosions in Quetta, 8 Dead and 105 Injured in a Week

Quetta:Over the past week, there has been a significant increase in explosions caused by gas leaks in Quetta, leading to the tragic loss of 8 lives. According to Dr. Manzoor, the In-Charge of the Burn Ward at Quetta’s Civil Hospital, the number of victims admitted to the hospital has surged due to these gas-related blasts.

Dr. Manzoor reported that in the last 48 hours alone, 37 injured individuals were brought to the hospital, with most of them suffering from burns, with around 90% of their bodies affected. Due to the large influx of burn victims, the hospital’s burn ward is facing overcrowding and a shortage of space to accommodate more patients.

He further added that in the past week, a total of 105 people have been injured due to gas leakage explosions, and the death toll has reached 8.

On the other hand, local residents have expressed concerns that the primary cause of these explosions is the gas load management practices of Sui Southern Gas Company, which they believe are contributing to the frequent gas leaks and subsequent blasts in the city.
