Karachi: PTA Blames Load Shedding for Network Issues, Proposes Solutions

Karachi:The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has attributed the ongoing network issues in Karachi to power load shedding. In a statement, PTA mentioned that the city’s mobile internet service disruptions were primarily due to frequent power outages and proposed the introduction of express feeders as a solution to improve the situation.
According to PTA’s report, a survey conducted in Karachi revealed that voice and data services were generally functioning well. However, the main cause of network disruptions in critical areas was identified as prolonged power load shedding.
The affected areas, including District Central, East, South, West, and Malir, have been facing network outages due to these power shortages. The report further stated that telecom infrastructure in these regions is equipped with backup power systems, but the average battery backup lasts only 2 to 4 hours, which is insufficient during prolonged outages.
