Google Maps Introduces Customizable Vehicle Icons for Navigation

Google Maps is rolling out a new feature that is sure to excite car owners. According to a report by 9to5Google, the new update allows users to customize the icon of their vehicle while navigating, making it a more personalized experience.

Four years ago, Google introduced the ability for users to change the appearance of their vehicle on the navigation screen, offering four different icons, including a regular arrow, a yellow SUV, a red car, and a green pickup truck. Now, Google Maps is expanding the customization options for Android users, allowing them to select from a variety of vehicle icons.

This feature, currently available to a limited number of users, lets them choose their preferred vehicle icon style and color. By selecting the “Vehicle icon while navigating” option under trip settings, users can choose from five vehicle options: Luxury Sedan, Off-road Pickup, SUV, Sports Car, and Hatchback. Additionally, there are eight color options to choose from.

While the feature is still in the testing phase for select users, it is expected to roll out to a broader audience in the near future.
