Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif Sets Target for Pakistan Cricket Team to Defeat India in Champions Trophy

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has set a target for the national cricket team to defeat India in the upcoming Champions Trophy. Speaking at the inauguration of the newly renovated Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday, he expressed his confidence in the team’s abilities.
The ceremony was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, ministers, cricketers, and fans. In his address, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif commended the excellent completion of the renovation of Gaddafi Stadium, which he called a magnificent achievement.
During the event, he stated that the national cricket team has made the nation proud by playing exceptional cricket. He expressed high expectations from players like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, emphasizing that by winning the Champions Trophy and defeating India, they would not only become national heroes but also win the hearts of 240 million people in the neighboring country.
The Prime Minister also shared his expectations from Shaheen Shah Afridi, wishing that he would take wickets just like his father-in-law, Shahid Afridi.
Shahbaz Sharif extended his best wishes to the national team for the Champions Trophy, which is set to begin on February 19 in Karachi, with the much-anticipated Pakistan-India clash taking place on February 23 in Dubai.
