PTI Chairman Gohar Clarifies Imran Khan’s Letter to Army Chief is Not Policy Shift

ISLAMABAD:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has stated that Imran Khan’s letter to the Army Chief is not a policy shift, but rather an attempt to address the growing distance between the military and the public.

In a media interaction, Barrister Gohar explained that in the letter, Imran Khan outlined the reasons for the rift between the army and the people, and emphasized that the gap between them should not widen. He reiterated that the letter was not an indication of a change in policy but aimed to clarify the underlying issues affecting the relationship between the military and the citizens of Pakistan.

Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, had written a letter to Army Chief General Asim Munir in which he raised six key points, including concerns about state terrorism against PTI and the party’s supporters. PTI’s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, while speaking to the media, stated that Imran Khan had urged the Army Chief to reconsider the current policies and make necessary adjustments. He also highlighted that the letter mentioned the upcoming fraudulent elections scheduled for February 8, 2024.

Faisal Chaudhry further emphasized that Imran Khan had expressed concern about the growing distance between the military and the public, attributing the rift to the establishment’s policies. He called for a revision of these policies to bridge the gap and restore harmony between the armed forces and the people.
