PTA Announces Extended Mobile Phone Registration for Travelers Staying Over 120 Days

Islamabad:The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has reminded travelers visiting Pakistan about the temporary mobile phone registration facility, encouraging those staying for more than 120 days to take advantage of this service.
In a press release, the PTA stated that visitors to Pakistan are granted a temporary mobile registration facility, allowing them to register their phones for a short period. However, for those staying longer than 120 days, they are now required to register their mobile devices formally.
The PTA also emphasized that travelers bringing mobile phones into the country must ensure they register their devices and pay the tax as specified by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
Previously, travelers from abroad faced difficulties with mobile phone registration, mainly due to high taxes imposed on devices intended for use in Pakistan. In response, the government introduced a temporary registration facility for 60 days, which has now been extended to 120 days to provide more convenience to travelers.
