HSC and SSC Board Hyderabad Exam Controller Dismissed Over Corruption Allegations

The Controller of Examinations of the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Hyderabad, Masroor Ahmad Zai, has been dismissed from his position on charges of corruption. According to a notification issued by the Chairman of the Board, Masroor Zai is accused of causing a financial loss of over 37 lakh rupees to the board.
The notification reveals that an inquiry committee has found evidence of corruption against Zai. The Controller is accused of uploading the results of 447 candidates on the board’s web portal during the 2024 matriculation exams without collecting the required fees, resulting in a loss of over 37 lakh rupees to the board.
On the other hand, Masroor Zai has denied the allegations, stating that the dismissal notification issued by the Chairman is unlawful. He argued that the controlling authority for exam controllers in educational boards is the Chief Minister of Sindh, and that he was not given an opportunity to present his side regarding the allegations raised by the committee.
In light of the ongoing differences between the Chairman of Hyderabad Board and the Controller of Examinations, the Sindh government has constituted an inquiry committee to investigate the matter further.
