Supreme Court Withdraws Contempt of Court Notice Against Additional Registrar Judicial Nazar Abbas

Islamabad:The Supreme Court has withdrawn the contempt of court notice against Additional Registrar Judicial Nazar Abbas.
A two-member bench, comprising Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Aqeel Abbasi, delivered the verdict in the contempt of court case against Nazar Abbas.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, while announcing the decision, stated that there was no deliberate violation of the court’s order by the Additional Registrar Judicial. As a result, the contempt of court notice against Nazar Abbas was withdrawn.
The judgment further noted that the Judges Committee and the Constitutional Committee had violated the court’s order. The court has referred the matter to the Chief Justice to form a full court regarding the powers of the committees.
The Supreme Court’s ruling also indicated that the matter of contempt of court against both the Judges Committees has been forwarded to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, who is expected to form a full court to address the issue. The Judicial Order issued by the Practice and Procedure Committee and the Judges Constitutional Committee had been disregarded.
As a result, the Supreme Court has terminated the showcause notice proceedings against Additional Registrar Judicial Nazar Abbas.
