Pushtunkhwa Milli Awami Party to Hold Public Jirga in Quetta Addressing Key Local Issues

Quetta:The Senior Vice President of Pushtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and Secretary of the District Quetta, Syed Sharaf Agha, in a joint statement, expressed support for the public Jirga in Quetta, which will address the challenges faced by the local communities. The public Jirga is based on the decisions of the Pushtunkhwa National Jirga held in Bannu from March 11-14.

The statement emphasized that this Jirga would serve as a platform to discuss the issues faced by the local tribes and communities, including a lack of basic amenities such as education, healthcare, and clean drinking water. Additionally, concerns about unemployment, illegal raids on business centers, and land encroachments will also be highlighted.

Syed Sharaf Agha further pointed out the urgent need for dam construction in the region to address water scarcity, as thousands of cubic feet of water are being wasted due to the absence of proper water storage systems. He also criticized the growing crimes in the city, including theft, drug trafficking, and land grabbing, allegedly with police protection.

The Pushtunkhwa Milli Awami Party plans to make this public Jirga a platform for presenting solutions to the citizens’ issues, with the participation of local political, social, and tribal leaders. The Jirga will be chaired by the central secretary of the party, Nawab Mohammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai.
