Pakistan’s Current Account Surplus for the Fifth Consecutive Month

Karachi:Pakistan’s current account has remained in surplus for the fifth consecutive month, according to the State Bank of Pakistan. In December 2024, the country’s current account posted a surplus of $582 million.
For the first six months of the fiscal year 2025, the current account surplus amounted to $1.21 billion, marking a significant turnaround from the same period in the previous year. In the first half of fiscal year 2024, the current account had recorded a deficit of $1.39 billion.
Compared to December 2023, the current account surplus in December 2024 showed a remarkable increase of 109%.
