According to international media reports, Anita Anand has been serving as the Minister of Transport in Prime Minister Trudeau’s cabinet. Along with Anita, several other key leaders have been nominated for the position of the next Prime Minister, including Dominic LeBlanc, Chrystia Freeland, Mélanie Joly, Franco Flliopi, and Mark Carney.

Anita Anand was born in 1985 in Nova Scotia, where she also grew up. According to the Canadian government’s website, her husband’s name is John, and they have four children. Her parents were both doctors; her father was from Chennai, India, while her mother hailed from Punjab, India.

Anita is a lawyer by profession, having earned degrees from Queen’s University, Dalhousie University, and Oxford University. She entered practical politics in 2019 from Ontario and quickly managed to secure a place in Justin Trudeau’s cabinet.

In 2021, Anita made history by becoming Canada’s first female Minister of Defence. She received praise for her efforts to enhance Canada’s military capabilities.
