LAHORE: Captain (retd) Safdar, husband of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, is facing criticism on social media over remarks concerning women that have been widely described as inappropriate.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has also commented on her husband’s statement, sharing a message on social media under the title “Heartbreaking.”

In her post, Maryam Nawaz wrote: “This is the silent battle a woman, a wife, fights behind closed doors. She has to remain courageous even when she feels she is falling apart. Some battles are fought in silence, and some wounds remain unseen.”

Her remarks have drawn attention on social media amid the controversy surrounding Captain Safdar’s comments.
