Barrister Gohar Denies Ali Amin Gandapur’s Contacts with Federal Government

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has said that Ali Amin Gandapur has not made any contact with the federal government, nor are there any contacts of any kind, adding that whatever negotiations were to be held with the government have largely already taken place.
Speaking to the media outside Parliament House, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that as far as Sohail Afridi is concerned, wherever he is, he should be brought back. Sohail Afridi is the Chief Minister today, he was the Chief Minister yesterday, and he will remain our Chief Minister in the future as well.
He said that if anyone has any doubts, they should remove them from their minds, and if needed, he would also issue a notification in this regard in his capacity as PTI Chairman from the party platform.
He further said that Sohail Afridi was our Chief Minister, is our Chief Minister, and will remain the Chief Minister — no one should even think of replacing him, as this authority belongs solely and exclusively to Imran Khan.

He stated that Ali Amin Gandapur has not contacted the federal government, nor are there any contacts of any kind between the party and the federal government. Whatever negotiations were to be held with the government have largely been done. Negotiations should take place, but something should be achieved — negotiations should not be limited to mere photo sessions, and concrete steps should be taken.
Meanwhile, a highly significant and unusual development has emerged amid the political deadlock in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the crisis triggered by the dissolution of the provincial government and the imposition of Governor’s Rule, with the revelation that former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s contacts with the federation have been restored.
According to media reports, former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s severed contacts with the federal government have been re-established. Sources within PTI said that after the imposition of Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on October 11, all contacts between the two sides had been completely severed. However, now, on the direction and decision of PTI’s provincial parliamentary party, former Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has once again resumed talks with the federation.
Sources said that in an important meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa parliamentary party held on October 20, Ali Amin Gandapur was given a complete mandate to hold formal negotiations and contacts with the federation. The majority of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa parliamentary party is in favour of ending political tension and resolving issues through negotiations, after which initial talks were held with two key federal ministers who had been part of the federal negotiation team before Governor’s Rule was imposed.
