Cruel Bills, 20-Hour Load-Shedding and Food Crisis: Government Incompetence Has Turned Balochistan into a Desert and No-Go Area: Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman
Instead of Establishing Peace, People Are Being Displaced and Orchards Cut Down; the Anti-People Policies of Islamabad's Rulers Have Made Life Unbearable: Conversation

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat Quetta) – Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan Ameer and MPA Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch has said that insecurity, heavy and illegal gas and electricity bills, 18 to 20 hours of load-shedding, along with the wheat, flour and LPG crises, continue in Balochistan, due to which the people are distressed and suffering. Islamabad’s rulers are pursuing an anti-people policy that is forcing the people of Balochistan toward suicide and self-immolation and burying them alive. He expressed these views while talking to delegations in Quetta.
He said that snatching the right to live is no governance at all. The closure of borders and roads, insecurity, and gas and electricity load-shedding and LPG shortage in severe cold have turned Balochistan into a desert and a no-go area. Instead of delivering the people from insecurity and terrorism and restoring peace and order, green orchards are being cut down and families and tribes are being forced to leave their homes and areas and migrate. Jamaat-e-Islami is raising its voice on every forum against all kinds of oppression, excesses and terrorism in every sphere of life.
He said that Islamabad’s rulers should give the people of Balochistan the right to live and livelihood, restore trade and establish peace. Balochistan’s population is small, the people are poor, and employment and business are almost non-existent; therefore Islamabad’s rulers should exempt Balochistan from gas and electricity load-shedding and give special concessions in bills, and legal trade with Iran and Afghanistan should be restored. A special employment package should be announced for the people and youth of Balochistan. To win the hearts of the people and for development and prosperity, they should do practical work with sincerity, not mere announcements. Peace should be restored through dialogue and negotiations, not force.
