Pakistan’s Foreign Policy Heading Toward Disaster, Neighbours Have Lost Trust: Zulfi Bukhari

ISLAMABAD (Qudrat Daily) – Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former federal special assistant Syed Zulfi Bukhari has expressed serious concern over the current federal government’s global and regional diplomatic policies, warning that Pakistan’s foreign policy is rapidly moving toward a major crisis and disaster, the effects of which are dangerously impacting the country’s overall and economic future.
According to details, in a statement issued on the social media platform X, PTI leader Syed Zulfi Bukhari shed light on the current diplomatic isolation, saying that today Pakistan is breathing in a geographical and regional environment where none of our neighbouring countries is ready to trust or rely on us.
Pakistan’s foreign policy is heading towards disaster. We now live in a neighbourhood where none of our neighbours trust us. As Afghanistan and India deepen ties with an anti-Pakistan agenda, we have failed to safeguard Chinese investments while undermining relations with Iran at others’ behest. Soon, even the US and the GCC will see through our empty promises, photo ops and endless overcommitments.

He said that due to the changing situation in the region and unbalanced diplomacy, the country is facing severe isolation at the international level. On one hand, countries like Afghanistan and India are rapidly advancing on an anti-Pakistan agenda and further deepening their mutual relations and partnership, while on the other, we have completely failed to protect the billions of dollars of investment and projects of our most reliable friend, China.
He alleged that the current rulers, on external signals and at the behest of others, have also damaged our historical and important relations with the brotherly Islamic country Iran. Diplomacy cannot be run through hollow claims, mere photo sessions and baseless promises. Very soon, the United States and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will also fully understand the reality of these hollow promises and slogans, because real and sustainable diplomatic relations cannot be established through mere verbal claims.
