“If Everything in Jail Is Being Recorded, Then Produce a Clip of Imran Khan Asking for an NRO” — Isar Rana’s Challenge
Lahore (qudrat Daily): Senior journalist Isar Rana and analyst Muneeb Farooq engaged in a sensational debate over the incarceration of PTI founding chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan, a political deal, and the position of the current government.
According to details, during the discussion on anchorperson Mansoor Ali Khan’s show, senior journalist Isar Rana completely rejected the impression that the PTI founder has sought an NRO or any kind of deal, and issued a challenge, saying that inside the jail, all movements and conversations are being recorded at all times. “If that is the case, then produce even a single clip or piece of evidence in which Imran Khan is asking for an NRO or saying he will seek forgiveness from the government and institutions and walk free,” he said.

In response, analyst Muneeb Farooq, shedding light on the political background, said that whatever Imran Khan says inside jail is all recorded and a formal written transcript is prepared. He noted that in politics, everyone needs a deal, but in Imran Khan’s case the important thing is that no deal of his choosing is available—in fact, at present there is no deal at all for him.
He said the real insurance policy of the current ruling coalition is that Imran Khan remains in jail; the day Imran Khan comes out of jail, the entire current political setup and all matters will come to an end the same day. He added that Imran Khan has been politically deceived many times and has been strung along in simple terms, under which many things and decisions were also made to be taken from him.
Citing an interesting inside story, he said that when Imran Khan’s meetings in jail were restored, he had asked then-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in a bitter tone, “Do you think I am mad?” All these revelations show that the political tension between the government and the opposition is extremely intense, and the strategies of both sides are intertwined with each other’s existence.
