Balochistan Needs New Provinces, Smaller Divisions and Districts to Improve Public Access to Government Services: CM Bugti

NORTH DERA BUGTI: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has stressed the need for creating new provinces, smaller administrative divisions and districts to bring government services closer to the people and improve public access to civil administration.
Speaking to the media during a press conference in North Dera Bugti, the chief minister said the establishment of smaller administrative units was essential to ensure the delivery of public services at people’s doorsteps and make government departments more accessible.
Bugti said the debate over establishing smaller administrative units had only recently gained momentum nationally, whereas he had begun working on the initiative two years ago, keeping in view Balochistan’s unique circumstances and the needs of its people.
He emphasised that the administrative structure should be designed to bring state institutions and the civil administration closer to citizens, reducing the difficulties people face when dealing with government departments.
Koh-e-Sulaiman Division Posts Approved
The chief minister announced that approval had been granted for all divisional posts in Koh-e-Sulaiman Division, adding that officers and staff would be appointed to these positions soon.

He said the government was also taking steps to transform Rakhni into a model division and give it a prominent place in the province’s development process.
Bugti noted that Rakhni should have been granted divisional status much earlier, but development work had now begun.
He said strict instructions had been issued to keep development projects in Rakhni free from corruption and commission-related practices.
According to the chief minister, the Communications and Works Department is directly implementing development projects to ensure transparency and effective oversight.
He added that the government wanted Rakhni to become a model division where projects were completed transparently and local residents could benefit from the resulting improvements.
CM Praises Security Forces for Foiling Terrorist Attack in Gwadar
Referring to the recent terrorist incident in Gwadar, Bugti praised security forces for their timely action in foiling an attempt to target a construction company’s building.
He said the sacrifices and counterterrorism operations of the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps and police in Balochistan were commendable.
The chief minister also noted that the trend of terrorist incidents in the province had declined since August, describing the development as a positive sign resulting from the continued efforts of security personnel.
Bugti stressed that operations against terrorism must continue until the threat was eliminated.
He expressed hope that lasting peace would be restored throughout Balochistan and prayed for the permanent elimination of terrorism from the province.
The chief minister reiterated that improving administrative access, ensuring transparent development and maintaining security remained essential to Balochistan’s long-term progress and prosperity.
