LPG price hits Rs500 per kilogram in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

ISLAMABAD: Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is being sold for as much as Rs500 per kilogram in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while prices in mountainous areas have reportedly reached Rs600 per kilogram, LPG Distributors Association Chairman Irfan Khokhar said.
As per reports, Khokhar said the official LPG price for October is Rs279 per kilogram. However, consumers in several areas are paying significantly higher rates, he said.
However, he criticised the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for failing to control prices, alleging the regulator remained silent despite widespread overcharging.
Moreover, Khokhar urged the government to use the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) terminal to help regulate LPG supplies and bring prices under control.
