“By God! When I Think of Imran Khan’s Sisters, It Feels Strange Why They Are in Jail”: Barrister Gohar Khan

Islamabad (Daily Qudrat) — PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has said, “By God! When I think of Imran Khan’s sisters, it feels strange why they are in jail? I say clearly that terrorists are enemies of the country and the nation; they should not find any place to hide. We do not accept Governor’s Rule and will stage a full protest in the House.”

Speaking here today, he said that our long march continues and we have not ended it. We do not accept Governor’s Rule and emergency. We were subjected to injustice; our workers were arrested and homes were raided. Such actions are not taken in a democracy. In a democracy, solutions to problems are always found within the framework of the Constitution and law. They think that if we come, we will attack and become a threat to someone, whereas we were not to become a threat to anyone. We had tried that whatever we do, we do it according to the Constitution and law. We were subjected to injustice; our workers, activists, and assembly members were imprisoned and beaten. When I think of Imran Khan’s sisters, by God! I feel strange — why are Imran Khan’s sisters in jail? We have challenged Governor’s Rule. I say that terrorism should be kept separate from politics. Terrorists are enemies of the country and the nation. There is no second opinion against terrorism. Terrorists should not find any place to hide. We will stage a full protest in the House and demand from the Speaker that workers be released.

Similarly, PTI has announced filing a petition in the High Court against the imposition of Governor’s Rule and emergency. Speaking to journalists in Peshawar, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar said that they are filing a petition in the High Court against the imposition of Governor’s Rule and emergency. Barrister Gohar said that they will continue their constitutional and legal struggle and are supporters of a free democratic system and an independent judiciary. He said that abolishing a democratic government and imposing emergency and Governor’s Rule is illegal. It is noteworthy that two days ago, on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari had signed the summary for emergency and Governor’s Rule.
