Islamabad (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — Jamiat Wukala Forum Pakistan Central President Senator Kamran Murtaza, Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey, and Senator Maulana Ataul Haq Darwish have formally submitted a resolution in the Senate against the imposition of emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in which strong reservations have been expressed over the declaration of emergency and an immediate demand has been made to the President of Pakistan and the federal government to withdraw this decision.
The resolution maintains that full compliance with the conditions laid down in the Constitution and legal procedures is essential for the imposition of emergency so that provincial autonomy, the mandate of elected provincial institutions, the democratic system, and all constitutional rights of the people can be ensured.
In the resolution submitted by the Senators, the federal government has also been demanded to immediately present before Parliament the summary, reports, reasons, and all other relevant records forming the basis of the emergency imposition.
The resolution has recommended to the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister, and relevant authorities that they reconsider the declaration of emergency and the orders issued as a result of it from a constitutional and legal standpoint and take appropriate and immediate measures to withdraw this decision. At the end of the resolution, it was emphasized that adherence to constitutional requirements, respect for provincial autonomy, and the survival of democratic institutions are indispensable for the supremacy of the Constitution and law in the country.
