Firing and Robbery on Passenger Coaches on National Highway; SSP Kachi’s Vehicle Also Targeted; Transporters Stage Sit-In in Sibi

Bakhtiarabad / Sibi (Daily Qudrat Quetta): During a series of severe lawlessness incidents on the National Highway last night, unidentified armed men targeted passenger coaches with firing and robbery at three different locations.
According to police sources and transporters, unidentified armed men opened fire on a passenger coach near Bakhtiarabad, as a result of which the coach’s cleaner (one person) was seriously injured. In addition, at the Rabi location, another passenger coach was forcibly stopped and passengers were robbed of cash and valuables. This series of lawlessness did not stop there; at the Mithri location, armed suspects also opened fire on the vehicle of SSP Kachi passing through the area. In this firing attack, SSP Kachi miraculously remained safe; however, the tires of his official vehicle burst after being hit by the firing.
These horrific incidents of attacks on passenger coaches, robberies, and firing on law enforcement officers’ vehicles on the National Highway sparked intense anger and outrage among transporters. In protest, transporters have completely blocked the National Highway for all kinds of traffic at the Nari Bank location in Sibi and staged a sit-in.
The protest sit-in is being led by District Transport President Sajid Bangulzai. Speaking to the media on the occasion, he expressed severe anger and said that a coach cleaner has been injured by the firing of armed dacoits, and targeting and robbing passenger coaches on the National Highway has become a daily routine, yet despite this, the district administrations of Sibi and Kachi are completely evading taking effective action against the criminals.
The transporters’ leader announced in unequivocal terms that until the government and administration provide complete security and protection to passengers, drivers, and transporters on the National Highway, the closure of the National Highway at the Nari Bank location and the sit-in will continue uninterrupted.
