Linking PTI to Terrorism Is the Worst Kind of Political Trickery: Barrister Salman Akram Raja

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and prominent lawyer Barrister Salman Akram Raja, while terming the imposition of Governor’s Rule and emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the darkest day in Pakistan’s history, has dismissed all the government’s allegations and press conferences as outright lies and bogus.

Addressing a press conference in this regard, Barrister Salman Akram Raja expressed a strong reaction and said that since this shameful decision of Governor’s Rule and emergency was made this morning, press conferences have been held that are completely based on lies. We are being accused of having links with terrorists, but why did these things come to their minds only when we demanded rights for our leader Imran Khan?

Disclosing the inside details of the negotiations, he revealed that when the negotiations took place, in the very first session, 7 points related to the elimination of terrorism were placed before us by the government. We had clarified even then that although this was not the subject of our session that day, we had fully agreed to all those points and every single clause. Despite this, linking PTI to terrorism is extremely regrettable and the worst kind of political trickery.

Referring to history, Barrister Salman Akram Raja warned that today, October 11, is the darkest day in Pakistan’s history. In 1973, the elected government of Ataullah Mengal was toppled in Balochistan and Governor’s Rule was imposed there, after which the situation in Balochistan could never be set right to this day. Today, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa too, a dangerous attempt is being made to create exactly the same Balochistan-style situation. The seeds of hatred being sown today do not bear fruit in a single day; rather, when a gulf is created between the people and the state, its devastating consequences span centuries.

Praising the former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said that Sohail Afridi refused to sell out the proud people of KP, but this spirit of PTI standing with the people is now being equated with terrorism. The vile narrative being constructed through continuous press conferences since the imposition of Governor’s Rule to prove PTI a sympathizer of terrorists is blatantly false and extremely shameful.
