Governor’s Rule Decision in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Is the Need of the Hour for Peace, Rule of Law, and Restoration of State Authority: Mena Majid Baloch

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta): Provincial Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs Balochistan, Mena Majid Baloch, while announcing full support for the federal government’s decision to impose Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has said that under the current circumstances, this decision is the need of the hour for the establishment of peace and order, restoration of state authority, and supremacy of the Constitution and law. According to her, this step could prove to be an important move toward restoring peace, stability, and state governance in the country.
She made it clear that no leader, political party, or political leadership can be above or superior to the Constitution, law, and the state. In a democracy, dissent is the fundamental right of every citizen, but this right can never be used as a means of spreading disorder, breaking the law, or challenging state authority.
Mena Majid Baloch said that using mobs in the name of the release or restoration of any political leader to take the law into their own hands, paralyze the government system, and pressure the state is unacceptable in any manner. World political history bears witness that even the greatest political leaders faced imprisonment and legal proceedings, but they always adopted constitutional and legal paths for their defense and political struggle. The relevant political elements should also have fought their legal battle within the constitutional framework instead of resorting to disorder and confrontation. Challenging state institutions and deteriorating the law and order situation never resolves issues; rather, it causes severe damage to national stability.
She further said that in the context of the deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rising tensions, and fears of possible confrontation, this decision of the federal government holds extraordinary importance with regard to national interest and state stability. The first and foremost responsibility of any government is to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property, the establishment of peace and order, and the enforcement of the Constitution and law.
The provincial advisor reiterated the commitment that political affiliations and party interests have their own importance, but when the matter concerns Pakistan’s peace, security, and state stability, national interest should be given precedence over every other priority. The real test of political leadership is that in difficult circumstances, instead of becoming emotional, it adopts the path of the Constitution, law, and national responsibility.
Mena Majid Baloch, while strongly supporting the decision to impose Governor’s Rule, expressed hope that this step will strengthen the restoration of peace and stability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, effective enforcement of state authority, and the rule of law.
