Sohail Afridi Challenges Federal Government to Impose Governor’s Rule or Emergency in KP

PESHAWAR:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has challenged the federal government to formally impose governor’s rule or declare an emergency in the province, insisting that PTI would not withdraw its constitutional and legal demands.

In a post on social media platform X, Afridi said the federal government had no option but to accept the party’s demands.

He argued that any such action without a formal declaration of emergency or governor’s rule would amount to rebellion, and challenged the federal government to take the step openly.

### PTI Vows to Continue Long March

Afridi said PTI would not back down from its constitutional and legal demands under any circumstances. He maintained that the long march would continue until those demands were fulfilled in accordance with the Constitution and the law.

The chief minister also asserted that the party would follow the policy of its founding chairman, Imran Khan.

Referring to the possibility of emergency rule or governor’s rule, Afridi said that once such a measure was formally announced, people would no longer cite Turkey as an example.

His remarks come amid escalating political tensions between the federal government and the PTI-led provincial administration over the reported possibility of emergency measures in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
