Dubai Municipality Allows Shared Housing in Over 44 Areas to Ease Accommodation Crisis for Pakistanis, Other Expats

Dubai (Qudrat Daily): Dubai Municipality has issued a major new circular under which buildings and villas in more than 44 areas of Dubai will now be officially permitted to provide shared housing. The primary aim of the move is to improve the residential and construction system in the emirate and further raise the standard of living for residents and expatriates.

According to the new guide and framework issued by Dubai Municipality, certain specified sections and zones among these 44-plus areas have been exclusively allocated for family-only shared housing, so that family values and a peaceful environment can be fully protected. The decision is being described as a milestone in regulating residential facilities in view of the city’s growing population.

Officials say the guidelines are part of Dubai Municipality’s comprehensive approach aimed at developing the entire building and construction ecosystem and bringing all related activities within a legal framework. The implementation of this policy will significantly reduce various problems across Dubai, including unregulated housing practices, illegal overcrowding in homes, congestion, and traffic issues.

In addition, the new system will prove highly helpful in ensuring the full protection of residents, promoting a clean and quality living environment, and maintaining community stability. Dubai Municipality’s step is a welcome development for both expatriates and investors, and it will bring further transparency and improvement to the emirate’s real estate and residential sector.
