Talal Chaudhry Says Imran Khan’s Blood Pressure Under Control After Specialist Treatment

ISLAMABAD:Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has said that a highly qualified specialist was called in to treat former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan’s blood pressure, after which his medication was changed and his condition is now under control.
Speaking on Geo News programme *Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath*, Chaudhry said Imran Khan’s family was aware of his treatment and that nothing regarding his health was being concealed.
He said the PTI founder had been provided with the best available medical care and that his blood pressure had returned to normal and ideal levels following treatment.
“Perhaps the level of care being provided to him is greater than what even someone at home could provide,” Chaudhry said.
During the programme, PTI leader Amir Dogar said negotiations with the prime minister could produce positive progress, adding that another meeting might have led to an outcome.
PTI leader Salman Akram Raja had earlier claimed that during negotiations, the party was informed that Imran Khan’s blood pressure was not improving and that a specialist doctor had subsequently been called from London.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar had dismissed such reports as rumours, saying that no health issue concerning Imran Khan had been reported. However, Interior Affairs Adviser Rana Sanaullah later contradicted this position and confirmed that a doctor had been called.
According to a report by Geo News correspondent Shabbir Dar, Dr Farqad Alamgir was brought from London to Adiala Jail to examine and treat Imran Khan.
Talal Chaudhry said authorities had specifically searched for a doctor who practises in both the United Kingdom and Pakistan so that Imran Khan could receive appropriate medical care.
He added that Imran Khan’s family was also satisfied with the specialist selected for his treatment.
