Pakistan Army Strongly Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia, Reaffirms Solidarity and Commitment to Protection of Harmain Sharifain

Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Armed Forces have strongly condemned recent Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia and expressed deep outrage over the strikes. The Army reaffirmed solidarity with the Kingdom and reiterated Pakistan’s firm resolve to safeguard the sanctity and security of the Harmain Sharifain.
The statements were made during the 277th Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military), Hilal-e-Jurat, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces. Participants offered Fateha for the martyrs of the armed forces, law-enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians who laid down their lives in defence of the motherland, and paid rich tribute to their sacrifices.
The forum declared that targeted operations against terrorism originating from Afghanistan constitute Pakistan’s legitimate right of self-defence. It held that the sole responsibility for the grave consequences of terrorism, carried out as a proxy of India, rests with the delusional Taliban leadership. The conference appreciated the sustained, intelligence-based counter-terrorism operations being conducted by law-enforcement agencies.
Participants stressed that the elimination of terrorism requires not only kinetic operations but also improved governance and administrative measures. Governance must be brought closer to the people at the grassroots level, effective public engagement on the causes and facilitators of terrorism must be pursued, and the terror-crime nexus operating under the patronage of certain elements must be dismantled. Strengthening police capacity was also underlined as essential. Internal stability was described as of paramount importance for Pakistan. Any attempt to create violent disorder or a situation resembling the events of 9 May, under any pretext, will be dealt with decisively, impartially, and without hesitation under the law.
The Corps Commanders’ Conference warmly welcomed the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement concluded among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye, terming it a significant step in the advancement of longstanding strategic relations and shared defence cooperation.
The participants strongly condemned the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, expressed solidarity with the Kingdom, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the protection and sanctity of the Harmain Sharifain. On Kashmir, the forum reiterated that the issue must be resolved in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Field Marshal Asim Munir directed that the process of further strengthening intelligence-based operations be continued. He instructed formations to keep enhancing their combat capabilities through the acquisition of modern technology, rigorous training, and the integration of all domains of warfare. He affirmed that, with the unwavering support of the nation, the Armed Forces of Pakistan remain fully prepared to safeguard the country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security.
