Illegal Motorcycle and Car Parking on Quetta’s Major Roads Has Made Life Miserable for the Public

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — Illegal and unlawful motorcycle and car parking on the main roads of the provincial capital Quetta has made life miserable for the public. Due to illegal parking by the lawyers’ community in front of the Sessions Court, passersby face severe difficulties. On Quetta city’s major roads and main streets, illegal and disorderly motorcycle and car parking has severely affected the traffic system, while citizens face severe difficulties in movement. Higher authorities should take notice and eliminate illegal parking on main roads.

Public circles say that on Quetta’s main roads, including Incomb Road, Court Road, around Akram Hospital, Patel Road, and other important roads, vehicles and motorcycles parked on the edges of roads and at some places on a large portion of the road are badly affecting the flow of traffic. Citizens say that due to illegal parking in important commercial and residential areas, roads have narrowed, due to which traffic jams have become routine. Patients, the elderly, women, students, and other citizens also face severe difficulties, while there is also a fear that the timely movement of ambulances and other rescue vehicles will be affected in emergencies.

Citizens’ circles have demanded from the concerned administration, Metropolitan Corporation, and Traffic Police that effective and impartial action be taken against illegal parking established on Quetta city’s major roads, roads and footpaths be cleared of encroachments and parking, and proper parking areas be arranged so that the flow of traffic can be restored and the difficulties faced by citizens can be eliminated. Citizens said that the city’s main roads should remain reserved for traffic flow and public movement instead of being turned into parking stands; in this regard, concerned institutions need to take practical measures instead of mere announcements.
