It Is Beyond Comprehension Why the Government Is Forcing PTI Toward a Long March: Fawad Chaudhry

Islamabad – Former federal minister and political leader Fawad Chaudhry has said that it is beyond comprehension why the government is forcing PTI toward a long march. The conditions laid out by PTI are so harmless that fulfilling them is not an issue at all.
In a statement on X, he said that it is simply beyond understanding why the government is forcing a long march. The conditions set by PTI are so harmless that fulfilling them is not an issue at all. “Is Imran Khan’s and political prisoners’ treatment and access to them such a demand that cannot be met? If Sohail Afridi had spoken of dissolving assemblies and holding new elections, then there would have been some point of contention,” he said.
He stated that the government is blatantly worsening the situation. “Why doesn’t the government understand that raising the political temperature will severely harm the economy and security?” he asked.

Fawad Chaudhry further said that he hopes extreme measures will be avoided in KP, because such actions would turn settled areas into a field of fire and blood — areas that are currently safe. “Desperation is dangerous not only for individuals but even more so for societies,” he said.
He added that both the government and the opposition should give each other space; pushing the country into a greater test than this would be foolish.
It may be recalled that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar has warned that if governor’s rule or emergency is imposed, they will offer full resistance, and governor’s rule cannot be imposed using terrorism as a pretext. Speaking to the media at Dahgal Naka, Barrister Gohar said that the call for the October 4 march currently stands. Today, in the form of a joint opposition, he met with PPP leaders and invited them to participate in the APC. The PPP said they would inform them about their participation in the APC after consultation. The APC will discuss the country’s overall and political situation, as well as the security situation in KP and matters related to the provinces.
He said that the arrests of members of parliament are a serious matter, and all parties should agree on what the future course of action should be. The fears that PTI has should be addressed, and there should be no blow to provincial autonomy. “The KP government is at a point where our own ministers are being picked up — this is a major infringement on government writ and provincial autonomy,” he said.
