PTI KP President Junaid Akbar Issues Stark Warning to Lawmakers Ahead of October 4 Protest

Islamabad – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar has issued a strict message to members of the assembly and party leaders regarding the October 4 protest, warning that any MPAs, MNAs, or party leaders who are not present in Pakistan on that date will have no affiliation with PTI.
In a message posted on X, Akbar stated that such individuals should form their own separate party. He remarked sarcastically that “one household has produced four chief ministers and two prime ministers who have been imposed on the country and nation for 46 years, yet Imran Khan is blamed for ruining the country — what a thought process.”
In another tweet, Junaid Akbar said that even if someone is a thief, incompetent, or unpatriotic, they are still acceptable to powerful forces as long as they are “Laila” — otherwise, regardless of whether they are patriotic and honest with public support, they will either be in jail or disqualified.

In an interview, Akbar stated that Sohail Afridi will remain Chief Minister as long as Imran Khan does not say otherwise. He added that the word “preparation” holds no special meaning for PTI, as their workers can take to the streets within 24 hours. He also noted that relations with Ali Amin Gandapur have not been good.
He said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and his party have made the greatest sacrifices in the war against terrorism, and the people of the province have already rejected the opponents’ narrative and will continue to reject it in the future.
Akbar stated that no matter how many press conferences the opponents hold, the public does not want to see them. “Our preparations were complete, which is why the government deployed such a large number of containers and police forces, demonstrating that the government was worried,” he said.
He reiterated that “preparation” means nothing special for PTI, as their workers can emerge within 24 hours. He said he was unaware of any back-channel negotiations, though contacts between political figures always continue.
Junaid Akbar emphasized that they have used every forum available and that the country and institutions belong to them, so a path should be found through dialogue. “Our first priority is the country; politics comes later,” he said.
When asked about Ali Amin Gandapur, Akbar stated that his relations with Gandapur have not been good, so it would not be appropriate for him to comment on Gandapur’s statements.
