Policy of Treating Balochistan as a Colony and Usurping the Right of Sovereignty Is Unacceptable: Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch

Quetta (Daily Qudrat Quetta) — A condolence reference organized by the National Party in memory of Baba-e-Balochistan Mir Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo and Mir-e-Jamhooriat Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo was held at the Quetta Press Club. The reference was addressed by National Party central president Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, central secretary general Mir Kabir Ahmed Muhammad Shahi, provincial president Aslam Baloch, Mir Shas Hasil Bizenjo, and other leaders. On the occasion, National Party leaders paid tribute to the political and national struggle, democratic commitment, political vision, and far-sightedness of Mir Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo and Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo.

Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch said that both personalities considered the stability of democracy, the rule of the Constitution, the supremacy of Parliament, and freedom of expression as fundamental principles for the stability and survival of the country. According to him, Mir Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo and Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo, while identifying the conditions of the country and Balochistan, repeatedly stressed that the opinion of the people should be given priority. He said that the elders of the National Party included Faiz Muhammad Yousafzai, Babu Karim, Shorish Gul Khan Naseer, and several other personalities. He also described the events of the Qalat State Convention and the alleged obstacles by sardars and nawabs as part of political history.

Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, mentioning the leadership of the National Awami Party and the arrests and imprisonment of political workers during Ayub Khan’s era, said that Mir Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo, Muhammad Hussain Unqa, Gul Khan Naseer, and other leaders spent a long time in prisons. Remembering his political journey with Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo, he said that he was a leader who also continued to play the role of a worker alongside leadership. He recounted that on one occasion, during a visit to India at the invitation of the Communist Party of India, when Mir Hasil Bizenjo was introduced as the son of Mir Ghaus Bakhsh Bizenjo, those present in the hall stood up to welcome him.

The National Party central president also remembered the political struggle of Maula Bakhsh Dashti, Mir Hasil Bizenjo, Dr. Yasin, Dr. Abdul Kai, and other leaders, and termed them an important part of Balochistan’s political history. Speaking on the current situation, he said that reports of an increase in the number of missing persons in Balochistan, bodies being found after violence, kidnapping for ransom, closure of highways, trailers being set on fire, and business activities being affected are concerning. According to him, in difficult circumstances, the role of national leadership is to show the people a political path and provide support.

Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch said that according to the National Party’s viewpoint, instead of viewing Balochistan in a colonial manner and limiting the people’s right of sovereignty, it is necessary to respect political and national rights. He stressed the need to address public concerns regarding the coast and resources and to end injustices. He urged party workers to further organize the party and, following in the footsteps of the party’s elders, carry forward the political and democratic struggle.

The reference was also addressed by BSO chairman Pajar Boyar Saleh Baloch, Balochistan Assembly members Rehmat Saleh Baloch, Khair Jan Baloch, Dr. Sarfaraz Khan, former Balochistan Assembly member Yasmeen Lehri, Advocate Changez Hai Baloch, Ali Ahmed Lango, Haji Fida Hussain Dashti, Haji Ata Muhammad Bangulzai, Dr. Ramzan Hazara, Khair Bakhsh Baloch, Farida Baloch, and others.
