Backdoor Contacts Between Government and PTI Still Active Today: Huzaima Rehman

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — PML-N leader and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Huzaima Rehman has claimed that backdoor contacts between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are still active today. However, following PTI’s violent style of protest, the matter has now entered its final stage, and the imposition of governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also possible, as the protest is causing a national economic loss of Rs 120 billion daily.
Speaking in this regard, he shed light on the situation of the blockade of Islamabad and Punjab, saying that they had carried out continuous welding for 10 days at Attock Bridge and installed strong iron sheets, but the protesters coming from the other side were so bloodthirsty that they grabbed these heavy welded iron sheets with their hands, tore them out, and threw them down into the river.

Speaking on the political situation and PTI, Huzaima Rehman said that backdoor contacts between the government and PTI are still active today, but due to PTI’s continuous protests, the country is suffering an economic loss of Rs 120 billion on a daily basis. This time, he said, the matter will not be a temporary solution but a “once for all” affair, and the truth is that he does not see things improving or getting better ahead.
On the political and administrative situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the PML-N leader further said that KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has now himself begun to realize that things and matters are slipping out of his control. In such a situation, anything could happen unexpectedly, and the imposition of governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is entirely possible.
