“By Snatching the People’s Mandate, the Way Is Being Paved for Occupation of Balochistan’s Resources and Mineral Reserves; We Will Expose Palace Conspiracies”: Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey

QUETTA (Daily Qudrat) — Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Balochistan provincial amir Senator Maulana Abdul Wasey and general secretary Maulana Agha Mahmood Shah have said that the very first and most basic right of the people of Balochistan is their right to vote, but unfortunately, by snatching this very right from the people, the way is being paved for compromises on the province’s resources, mineral reserves and collective rights. Ignoring the people’s votes and true mandate and preparing artificial political batches is, in fact, an attack on the sovereignty of the people of Balochistan, through which the way is being paved for the occupation of the province’s resources and for stabbing its rights in the back. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam will expose all such palace conspiracies and erect a strong political barrier in their path.
They said that JUI kicked away power for the sake of Balochistan’s rights, but never compromised on principles, the Constitution and the collective interests of the province. Whether it be Reko Diq, Saindak, NHA matters or the 18th Constitutional Amendment, whenever the question of Balochistan’s rights, resources and provincial authority arose, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam came into the field and fought the province’s case with full force. Today, by preparing political arrangements and artificial political batches overnight in private hotels, an attempt is being made to rob the people of Balochistan of their rights; such elements cannot claim to be the true representatives of the people of Balochistan. Balochistan’s representation comes not from closed rooms and private hotels but from the people’s votes and true mandate.
The leaders said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s struggle is not limited to any one district, area or nation but is a struggle for the constitutional, political, economic and basic rights of all nations and classes settled across the length and breadth of Balochistan, from Gwadar to Zhob and Sherani. JUI’s struggle will continue for authority over the province’s resources, the people’s right to sovereignty, true democratic representation and a secure future for coming generations. They said that the people’s growing trust in Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s unwavering, principled and unequivocal stance is an expression of the fact that the people of Balochistan want the protection of their true right to vote, constitutional rights and public mandate, not artificial arrangements.
