‘One Day, PTI Will Be Erased from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’: Atta Tarar

Peshawar: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has strongly criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), claiming that a time will come when the party’s name and presence will be completely erased from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He made the remarks while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the office of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Jalal Khan in Peshawar. Former Punjab governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, PML-N leader Ikhtiyar Wali Khan and other party leaders also attended the event.
Taking a jibe at PTI, Tarar said, “I used to say that the days would change and you would be running around. You would run so much that you would not be able to stop.”
He said his party’s leadership had also faced imprisonment and hardships but had kept its head held high. “I do not know what kind of people these are. They cry first and talk later,” he remarked.
The federal minister also criticised the PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, describing its politics as “TikTok politics.” He sarcastically said politics did not mean someone getting off a helicopter while another person secretly stood nearby with a phone to record a video.
“Real politics means coming into the political arena and serving the people,” he said.
Tarar further questioned what he described as PTI’s failure to deliver a major and memorable development project despite governing the province for around 14 and a half years.
He claimed that major projects in the province, including the Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway, were the result of initiatives by the PML-N and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
He added that under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, modern Danish schools were being established in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the Punjab model, while efforts were also being made to improve the health sector.
