Pakistan Must Become Self-Reliant in Technology, Says Ahsan Iqbal

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said Pakistan must prepare its students in line with 21st-century educational trends and achieve self-reliance in the field of technology.
Addressing a ceremony of the Gujranwala Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Ahsan Iqbal congratulated position holders, their parents and teachers on their achievements.
The federal minister said success would motivate students to work harder and move forward. He noted that there was no place for rote learning in today’s world.
Ahsan Iqbal said Narowal had been an underdeveloped district of Punjab until 2008. He recalled that he had pledged to transform it into a “land of knowledge” and said the district was now home to numerous higher education institutions.
He stressed that merely talking about change in speeches does not constitute transformation, adding that practical change was essential.
