Video Emerges of Alleged Arrest of KP Provincial Minister Fazal Shakoor; Masked Men Seen Firing at Vehicle Tires on Motorway

Peshawar (Qudrat Daily) — A video has surfaced of the alleged arrest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Minister Fazal Shakoor Khan on the motorway, in which masked men dressed in plain clothes can be seen firing at the tires of the provincial minister’s vehicle. According to the video that went viral on social media and a statement by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of the Provincial Assembly Abdul Ghani Afridi, the official vehicle of Provincial Minister Fazal Shakoor was stopped without justification on the motorway. Masked men targeted the vehicle’s tires at gunpoint with Kalashnikovs, as a result of which the tires burst and the vehicle’s windows shattered. Following this, Fazal Shakoor was taken into custody and shifted to an undisclosed location.

Expressing grave concern over the incident, Abdul Ghani Afridi said that if such an unconstitutional and violent attitude is adopted toward an elected provincial minister, then the question arises as to how safe the life, property, and honor of an ordinary Pakistani are in this country. For God’s sake, have mercy on this country and this province, let politics remain politics, and do not try to suppress dissent through guns, bullets, and batons, because such actions will only spread hatred and conflict in the country.
He clarified that we are patriotic Pakistanis and want to resolve all our political differences through democratic means. Imran Khan has always taught peaceful struggle and protest while remaining within the bounds of the Constitution and the law, and we will continue our constitutional struggle without taking the law into our own hands. Making political dissent a crime must be stopped, and the supremacy of the Constitution and the law must be established instead of power, because the country needs justice and the rule of the Constitution, not guns.
