MQM-P Chief Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui Calls for Public Mobilization Over Provincial Status Issue

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has said that the people of Karachi will take to the streets on Sunday to assert themselves over the issue of provinces.
Addressing a ceremony at Nazir Hussain University, Siddiqui said that people would have to come into the field of action to change the destiny of the nation. He said they were going to hold a march for the entire country.
He said that Karachi residents would come out over the issue of provinces and make their voices heard, describing the demonstration as a “public referendum.”
The MQM-P chairman also criticised Jamaat-e-Islami, saying that the party comes out on the streets on particular occasions. He claimed that whenever Jamaat-e-Islami protested over petroleum product prices, prices increased instead of declining.
