Strict Measures Adopted to Combat Drug Trafficking and Cultivation in Quetta Division: Commissioner Hamza Shafqat

Quetta :Under the chairmanship of Commissioner Quetta Division, Hamza Shafqat, a high-level meeting was held to discuss and implement stringent measures for the prevention of drug trafficking and cultivation in the region. The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Agha Samiullah, Deputy Commissioners, and other relevant officials.
During the meeting, key decisions were made to curb the cultivation of drugs on agricultural lands. It was decided that any landowner found involved in the cultivation of narcotics would face criminal legal action, including arrest and confiscation of their land by the government. Additionally, the national identity card, bank accounts, and local certificates of the landowner will also be blocked.
The authorities have urged all farmers and landowners to refrain from cultivating drugs, warning that any violation would lead to severe legal consequences, for which the landowner will be held fully responsible.
Commissioner Hamza Shafqat emphasized that significant anti-drug operations have already been carried out across Quetta Division, particularly in Pishin and Qila Abdullah districts. These operations have led to the seizure and destruction of thousands of tons of narcotics, and several drug factories have been demolished.
He reassured that the government is committed to taking every possible step to prevent the cultivation, smuggling, and trade of drugs. Joint operations are being carried out against those involved in these illegal activities, with the aim of eradicating the menace of drugs from the region.
