Approximately 30 Percent Youth Representation in Pakistan’s Democratic Assemblies, While 62 Percent of the Country’s Population Consists of Youth: Provincial Adviser for Sports and Youth Affairs Meena Majeed Baloch

QUETTA + CAPE TOWN (Daily Qudrat) – On the occasion of the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, Balochistan’s young Member of the Provincial Assembly and Provincial Adviser for Sports and Youth Affairs, Meena Majeed Baloch, representing the youth of the Asia region, highlighted the issues, capabilities, and future prospects of Pakistan’s and especially Balochistan’s youth at the global parliamentary forum. In the Youth Roundtable held on September 16 under the ongoing 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, Meena Majeed Baloch represented the youth of the Asia region. Addressing the roundtable meeting, she expressed her views on the problems faced by youth, available opportunities, their capabilities, and future prospects, and stressed the need for effective inclusion of youth in the decision-making and policy-making process. Meena Majeed Baloch said that approximately 30 percent youth are represented in Pakistan’s democratic assemblies, while 62 percent of the country’s population consists of youth. Pakistan’s youth are endowed with energy, capability, skill, and determination and have full potential to take the country toward development, prosperity, and a bright future. Highlighting the voice of Pakistan’s and especially Balochistan’s youth before the global parliamentary community, she said that providing appropriate opportunities to youth in the policy and decision-making process is an important need of the time. The Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference is an important annual global platform of the parliaments of Commonwealth member countries, where parliamentarians, parliamentary officials, and policy-related individuals from various countries discuss global, parliamentary, and social affairs. In this year’s 69th conference, hundreds of parliamentarians, parliamentary staff, and policymakers and decision-makers from various Commonwealth parliaments are participating. The representation of the youth of the Asia region by a young woman member from Balochistan at the global parliamentary forum and highlighting the issues, capabilities, and prospects of Pakistan and Balochistan’s youth is being described as an important honor for Balochistan.
